I have been fortunate to work with many home educating families over the years, supporting children both through one-to-one lessons and small group sessions.
I teach online as well as face-to-face from my home in North Norfolk, where I aim to create a relaxed, welcoming environment in which every child feels comfortable to ask questions, explore ideas and enjoy learning.
My experience includes teaching full IGCSE Science courses, running revision and exam technique sessions, and creating bespoke science programmes tailored to each child's interests, confidence and learning style.
Whether a student is working towards exams or simply wants to discover more about the world around them, my goal is always the same: to nurture curiosity, build confidence and help every child develop a genuine love of science.
I have worked with home educated children aged 5–16 years from families who have chosen home education for many different reasons.
I understand that every family's journey is unique, and I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual so I can adapt my teaching to suit their needs, strengths and aspirations.

Every home educated child follows a unique learning journey. I believe tutoring should complement that journey by nurturing curiosity, building confidence and providing the right balance of challenge and support.
I work closely with families to understand their child's interests, learning style and educational goals. Whether your child is learning for the joy of discovery, preparing for IGCSEs or A Level, or simply wants to explore science in greater depth, I tailor every lesson to suit their individual needs and pace.
I encourage students to ask questions, think critically and develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts. I use practical examples, discussions and carefully chosen resources to bring science to life, helping students make meaningful connections between what they learn and the world around them.
For students working towards qualifications, in addition to the above, I provide structured guidance in exam techniques and study skills, ensuring they feel well prepared without losing sight of the enjoyment of learning.
I believe effective tutoring extends beyond the lesson itself. To support ongoing learning, I provide a complimentary WhatsApp group for each student and their parent or carer, offering a convenient way to ask questions between sessions, seek clarification, and receive additional activities for practice. Where appropriate, I also mark and provide feedback on this work, helping students maintain momentum and build confidence between lessons.
Above all, I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to explore ideas, make mistakes and grow in confidence. My goal is to help each learner become an independent, resilient thinker who enjoys learning and feels empowered to achieve their own ambitions.
