I hold qualifications and experience across SEND support, mental health training, business coaching, and the performing arts.

I’m also the founder of RYTC Creatives, CIC and Education Selection Box CIC, and I lead a team of specialist tutors who share my values and my commitment to learner-centred, creative education.

Nearly 30 years of experience across the creative industries, business, and education.

I work with the young people I call The Brilliantly Underestimated — gifted, neurodiverse, and creatively-wired learners who’ve often had a difficult relationship with formal education and just need someone to believe in them and teach them differently.

That includes:

• SEND learners (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other learning differences)

• home-educated children at primary, secondary and post-16

• young people in alternative provision or transitioning back into learning

• learners who are burned out, switched off, or told they’re not academic

• families who want more than a worksheet and a timer.

I also work with the adults around them — parents, carers, educators — because supporting a young person well usually means supporting the whole household.

Home education families are some of the most committed, creative, and resourceful people I’ve ever worked with. They’ve often made a significant and courageous decision to step outside the mainstream — sometimes because the system failed their child, sometimes because they could see something in their learner that school simply couldn’t accommodate, and sometimes both.

My experience spans many years and many shapes of home education — from structured curriculum-based learning to fully autonomous, interest-led approaches.

Particularly experienced with home-educated learners also navigating SEND — young people whose families pulled them from school because their needs weren’t met, or whose anxiety/sensory differences made a classroom harmful.

Supported home-ed young people through GCSEs taken independently, arts projects, personal development programmes, and transitions into college, apprenticeships and creative careers.

My tutoring has never been built on the idea that support starts at the first second of a booked session and ends at the last. That’s not how children work, and it’s not how I work.

I deep-dive into who a child actually is — what lights them up, what shuts them down, what they need to feel safe enough to learn — and I build everything from there.

That’s always been true, and it shows up in the things I’ve created.

My Young Authors course started because I turned my home into a home ed sanctuary for a five-year-old who spent a whole week with the fairies in my garden — writing, illustrating, and publishing her very own book.

My Border Collie became a therapy dog because a SEND child was so traumatised by her school experience that she needed to completely regroup before she could trust the world again. We spent weeks walking in the woods together, the three of us, before she was ready to make a friend.

And my Our Team Around The Table hub — a support space for parents, families, and children — exists because I have always believed it takes a village. Full stop.

My work is grounded in what I call Creative-Integrated Education — a nervous system-informed, experience-led approach that meets learners where they actually are, not where the system expects them to be.

I bring performing arts, storytelling, real-world application, and genuine human connection into everything I do, whether that’s a one-to-one GCSE session, a confidence coaching programme, or a creative writing deep-dive.
